Turned out to be one from the tailplanes. Don't know how I missed it hiking in, must have passed within 50 yards of it.

Taking a wash back to the truck, it's a longer way, but I don't have to deal with the cacti and other pointy things hiking in the wash. This trip turned out better than I was hoping for. While driving home was thinking about the wreckage I found and I don't think any of it came from the F-4B, hopefully one of these days I'll find out where it went down.

I did find the crash site of the F-4B #150473 that mid-aired with this F-8J. Photos of it's crash site can be seen here http://joeidoni.smugmug.com/gallery/7800106_7UtzL/1
