After checking out the B-24 site, I looked for a X-10 site that I was told was in the aera. It took awhile, but I was able to find it.
The X-10s were test aircraft for the Navaho cruise missile. This photo is of the North American X-10 #19307 at the National Museum of the USAF, Dayton, Ohio. (U.S. Air Force photo)
Number 19307 in flight. I think the one at the crash site was #19311 and crashed on 2/22/55 during a flight from Edwards AFB.
The first thing I noticed at the site was the aluminum "rocks".
Looking closer I could see that there was a lot of small steel pieces remaining in the burned area.
