Surprised to still be finding pieces down in this canyon.
Near the bottom was a landing gear. No idea which F-86 this came from.
Almost down onto the flat desert.
When I got on the flats, I looked back and could see the wing up on the other peak (center of photo). Have to save it for another time if I'm ever in the area.
Found these 50 cal links a few hundred yards from the truck.
Never been so happy to get back to the truck, the sun has already set. It took me about three and half hours to hike out, should have taken about one and half.
Foot doesn't feel very good. That was the most painful hike I ever done, glad it's over. Going to eat dinner, watch a DVD and go to sleep, it's been a long day. I remembered to send out one last Spot OK message so my friends know I made it back to the truck.
Driving out the next morning. This was a great crash site, wish I was able to explore more of it. Have a feeling that there's got to be more wreckage on the slope with the wing.
