The E model was the first Sabre to use the full power-operated control system on the stab for better maneuverability at high speeds. This fairing contained the controls for the new horizontal tail.

Looking inside, I could see the part number perfix of 170 which indicates the E model.

This tubing is about two inhes in diameter and looks like it might have been attached to the vent in the tail.
No idea what this is, it's about a foot long.
This tank is about two feet square.
Wasn't sure what it was used for until I turned it over and saw the words "OIL TANK" on it.
