When I got to this point on the way down, I realized that I never found the second engine, but I'm not going back up that slope to look for it.
View of Owens Peak on the way out. There are crash sites of the A-7A BuNo 152674 and Cessna 210B N9771X that mid-aired over the peak on 8/1/67 scattering wreckage on it's slopes. One of these days plan to look for them.
Back on the road with the truck in sight.
Driving back out to the highway. On the whole hike out, all I was thinking about was getting a cheeseburger in Mojave. The two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and Cheez-Its I bought along for the hike just weren't enough.
