Spent three days in Death Valley. Day one, checked out the mine ruiuns at Skidoo. Day two, climbed Ubehebe Peak. Day three, drove out on Hunter Mountain Road.
A ore bin and rusty car full of bullet holes. These are the first signs of mining I came upon in the Skidoo area.
Found this cool looking mine, but it was blocked just past the entrance.
Found the millsite I was looking for, but it was on the other side of the canyon. Had to backtrack a little and take a turnoff I past about half mile back.
There was this sign showing the way it once looked.
The sheet metal was all gone and part of the stucture has collapsed. The mines in this area were active off and on from about 1906 to 1970.
Ice at the site. Must have been cold last night.
My shadow on one of the tanks.
Some of the stucture has been rebuilt.
