Hiked to Spectre Point in Joshua Tree Nal't Park with Kathy. This was my first hike in six weeks due to catching a bad case of acute bronchitis that cause me to miss three weeks of work. It was hard doing the hike, but I was glad to be able to hike again after being sick for so long.
This is the place I found to spend Friday night in the Old Dale area. Plan to meet Kathy at the trailhead for the hike to Spectre Point.

The road the hike starts on was gated or we could have cut about 8 miles off this hike.
We followed these tracks for a couple of miles before they disappeared. The road was hard to follow in a few places due to wash outs and lack of use.

At this spot on the way out in the dark, we missed the road and followed the wash. After a while we realized that we were off track and used the GPS to find the road again.
