Gambler's Special Peak 9/9/06 : The day started with a young bear running off with Sooz's pack at the Whitney Portal. We got it back, but it was a little torn up. Cori had a spare pack, so with a two hour delay we started off for the Gambler's Special Peak. This peak isn't named on maps, but got it's name from a DC-3 that crashed on it's north side on 2/18/69.

Mount Morgan 9/2/06 : Tried this hike solo the week before, but had a late start, picked a bad route and ended up in a boulder field. On this try I was joined by Kathy and we were able to find a fairly easy route to Mt Morgan's 13,748' summit.

Mount Starr 10/1/05 : My group met up some some of the floks from TT at Rock Creek Lake for a car camp and and pot luck dinner. We hiked up to Mount Starr, while some of the other folks headed for the Morgan Pass area. Fun weekend.

Mt Whitney Via Mountaineer's Route 8/27/05 : Day hiked to Mount Whitney via the mountaineer's route with Sooz, Kathy, John and Jay. We then descended on the main trail. This was my third time on Mount Whitney, first time using the mountaineer's route.

Yosemite - Sentinel Dome 8/2/03 : This trip to Yosemite was to hang glide off Glacier Point, but we got rained out the first day. Since we couldn't fly on the first day, Helen and I checked out some of the valley and hiked to the top of Sentinel Dome.
