Traveled to Kauai with Helen to attend a friends wedding. Decided to make a vacation out of the trip. Did a few hikes and got in a lot of sight seeing.
Day 1 - At LAX waiting to broad the plane. It's been 10 yaers since I been to the islands and this will be my first time on Kauai.
Off the ground and leaving LA behind.
A short time after take off we were flying past Point Dume.
Clouds from 35,000'. Most people would have gotten bored looking out of the window on a flight over the ocean, but the ever changing cloud formations had me looking for hours.
After flying over water for about six hours, we finally saw land. It was the west end of Oahu.
While on our landing approach, the plane's shadow created a glory on the cloud.
At the Lihue Airport on Kauai we saw our first of many rainbows here.
I saw this rooster at the airport while getting the car, didn't think much of it at the time.
This is the condo we stayed at in Kapaa, we had the upper floor of the two story. The place was twice as big as my apt.
