On 2/12/75, the LTV A-7E Corsair #156881 crashed in the Inyo Mountains. The pilot was killed in this accident.
My hike to the A-7 crash site started from here.
Looking back as I hike up.
Didn't take long to find the first piece of wreckage.
A little further up I came upon a small group of pieces.
Looks like part of a linkage.
The piece had a part number prefix of 215, indicates a Ling-Temco-Vought (LTV) A-7.
Another group of pieces.
This piece had a prefix of 218, also indicating a LTV A-7.
