I was able to locate this crash site by using the crash report provided by Chris Baird. This is the map from the report. Used it to get a general location of the crash site.

After spending a few hours looking over the topo maps and Google Earth, this is the area I figured the F-104 can down.

This large armature must be from the generator. The crash report had a drawing showing a generator in the crater. Found it near the crater.
