Starting off on the hike to the SNB-1 crash site. Nice to be hiking on open desert after my last three failed attemts of locating two other crash sites in mountainous terrain.

This is the first piece that I recognized as coming from a C-45 type aircraft. It's the top of the fuselage that would have been just over the pilot's head.

The top edge is where the windshield would have been. The small overhead window is what I recognized.

Looks like a muffler, but it's to small for the engines on this plane. The NTSB report stated that the plane was transporting a spare engine, wonder if the muffler is from that engine???

This was the largest piece of wreckage at the site, it's the outer section of the left wing. The crash site can be seen in the background.

Turning the wing over, I saw that it was only the upper wing skin. The ribs and bottom skin are missing.
