On 12/10/06 at 5:55 pm, the Bell 412SP #N410MA, call sign "Mercy Air2," crashed in the mountains 1.2 miles north of the Cajon Pass. They were returning to their home base at the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville, Ca. after transporting an injured patient from Phelan to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Sadly the pilot Paul Latour, flight nurse Katrine Kish and paramedic Jerry Miller were killed in the accident. Mercy Air Service Inc. is based in Rialto, Ca and operates community-based air medical transport in the Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas areas. Their aircraft are based at either a fire station or airport and serve all community hospitals.
