The B-25 #N3446G went down in Mill Canyon in the San Gabriel Mountains on 7/22/60 while fighting a fire. The crew of three, James Armstrong, Charles Franco and John Bowman didn’t survive the crash. The aircraft was a World War II bomber converted for fire fighting use. What remains at the site is a section of wing, part of the stab, all three landing gear and both engines. Most of the rest of the aircraft melted away during the post crash fire or was removed.
