Pot farmers don't like mosquitos, found five of these at the camp. Glad that these people were gone, could have been bad if I hiked into their camp.
A few days after I did the hike, I found a newspaper article from 8/15/09 about this pot farm.
In a two day raid by a team of county sheriff's deputies, Forest Service officers and state and federal investigators. Arrested were five men who had created numerous campsites to tend to 10,000 plants in a 1 square-mile operation. The men, ranging from age 19 to 33, were armed with rifles and dressed in camouflage. The site had both marijuana plants and 60 pounds of dried buds, with an estimated value of $35 million, according to a sheriff's news release
