The location of this crash site was given to me by Tom Gossett about six years ago. I been wanting to visited the site for years, but kept putting it off due to remoteness of the location, I finally decide it was time to do the hike.
At this time the F-100's indemnity is still a mystery to me. Going by the dates that were on some of the parts, it looks like it's a F-100D. It appears to have suffered from an apparent engine failure, impacting the ground flat on it's belly with little or no forward motion. I'll be looking for more information on the accident and post any updates.
