In the morning, packing up after breakfast.
Dunes in the morning light.
These birds were gathering in the area as we packed up.
Back on the road leaving the dunes. White Mountain in the distance. We are going to the Ubehebe Crater using the Big Pine Road. We put in a lot of dirt miles on this trip.
A view of the dunes as we drive away.
Last look at the dunes.
Sooz and Ron taking photos of the rock with a hole. This is just off the Big Pine Rd.
Sooz on the rock.
We climbed this little peak beside the road to get a view.
The view from the peak. The intersection in the distance is Crankshaft Junction.
Heading back to the trucks after checking out the view.
At Crankshaft Junction. Lot of crankshafts and a few other car parts here. On the maps it's called Crankshaft Junction, but the sign here said Crankshaft Crossing???
Crankshafts on a stick.
This is still at Crankshaft Junction. We took a short break here to check out all the different wild flowers in the area. Some that I've never seen before.
A view out the side window from the Big Pine Road.
At the Ubehebe Crater.
We decided to hike to Little Hebe that was near by. This is looking over the side of the trail.
Another look down into Ubehebe.
Almost there after the half mile hike.
This is Little Hebe. Not as nice as the big one, but there were a lot of flowers around.
There were a lot of these desert five-spots on the rim of the crater.
Juliet on the ridge. We hiked up the trail to Hebe, but used the ridge to return to the trucks.
Sooz on the ridge. The views were nice from the ridge.
Juliet and Ron back at the parking area. They were going to stay another week in Death Valley.
The view from a turnout on Hwy 190 on my way home.
Had to get in my shot of Telescope Peak from the Panamint Valley Road. Another fun trip to Death Valley, I really got to like this place.
