Kathy up ahead as we make our way around the false summit.
There were a lot of these hairy cactus on the hike.
Great view from here.
A little bit of uphill as we go over the bump, it will be steep down after this.
Looking down at our vehicles on the Racetrack Road over 3,000' below, this is going to be steep.
Kathy and Jay starting the steep descent.
Alison sliding on the loose rocks.
This shot shows the angle of the slope.
Joshua tree with a view.
We are using a different route on the way down.
Trucks on the road leaving dust trails.
We wound up in this canyon on the way down, got stopped by a high dry falls. Had to climb out of the canyon to get around it.
Out of the canyon.
Kathy and Alison climbing out of the canyon.
Almost back to the start of the hike.
Back on the road, tough hike.
This is where we camped Saturday night, the others already started home.
Had to get a shot of Teakettle Junction on the way out.
Some new ones since last time, this one is cool.
Back on the Racetrack Road, the truck was handling a little funny with a blown out shock.
Back on the paved road just past the crater.
The Stovepipe Wells sand dunes with a lot of yellow flowers.
More flowers along the road.
Another view of the sand dunes.
Lot of butterflys on 395, the truck was cover with them. This was one of the hardest hikes I've done in a long time, don't think I'll be doing this one again.
