After the hike we continued down the road to Leadfield.
Tailings pile and shacks at Leadfied.
A shack at the mine site.
Inside the shack.
Rebecca and Dave in front of the sealed mine at Leadfield.
Back on the road we finally enter the narrows of Titus Canyon.
The narrows were the best part of the drive through the canyon.
Great colors and shapes.
A cave in the narrows.
Another look at the cave.
Going through the narrowest section.
Exiting Titus Canyon. Driving through the narrows was fun.
Dave and Rebecca were planing on hiking to Telescope Peak tomorrow so we said good bye to them.
Dust and sand were still blowing at Stovepipe Wells. John, Sooz and myself headed to Stovepipe Wells for gas and some goodies before heading back to camp
We found a nicer campsite at the end of a dirt road in the Funeral Mountains. Just in front of John's truck is a 50' dry falls.
The next morning we went exploring on the dirt roads and ended up on a peak with a view. This is looking southwest to the Stovepipe Wells area. It was windy and cold up here.
Zoomed in on the Stovepipe Wells sand dunes.
Zoomed in on Corkscrew and Thimble Peaks.
After checking out the view, we headed down to Chloride City.
At Chloride City.
The mine at Chloride. It smelled like bleach in the tunnel.
After checking out the mining area it was time to head home. That's Corkscrew Peak.
Instead of back tracking, we decided to drive into Nevada and take the highway back.
Death Valley Buttes as we head to Hwy 190.
The Stovepipe Wells Sand Dunes with the Grapevine Mountains. Fun trip.
