Shadows reach across the lakebed as I near the end of the hike.

Back at the truck, plan to spend the night at Homestake further down the road.

On the way to the campsite I stopped at the wet end of the lake to get a few shots at sunset.

The lakebed dries into cool looking patterns.

Getting dark, time to get to camp.

Brought along a DVD player on this trip. Being alone, it was nice watching a movie (Spider-Man 2) after dinner. Helped past the time.

The next morning there was frost on the truck. Most of it melted by the time I took this shot. Temps were in the high 20s overnight.

Homestake is just a flat area, there's not much out here.

Back on the washbroad on the way out. Plan to stop at the lake to get a few more photos.

It's hard to see in this shot, but there's ice covering part of the lake.

The Grandstand is at the other end.

The ice wasn't very thick.

Almost back to Ubehebe Crater and the paved road. Be glad to get off this road, it sounds like the truck is going to rattle apart.

Just past the crater and on the pavement, feels so smooth.

I stopped at the Old Stovepipe Wells to have lunch before the drive home.

He let me take a few photos before moving on.
