Crossing a bridge north of Barstow. Going to met Sooz, Chip and Robin for a hike to Black Mountain.

We stopped in Black Canyon to check out the petroglyphs.

There was a few different routes we could have taken to the peak, but we decided to do it from the northwest side by starting up this canyon.

Even thought the area has a lot of rocks, the routes we took up and down avoided most of them.

Heading back to the vehicles. The route we took down put us about a mile down the road from where we started. It nice doing the hike as a loop.
We stopped at Inscription Canyon on the way to a camp spot.
This area has some great looking petroglyphs.
