Joe(me), Kathy, Sooz and Earnie at the trailhead in Fobes Canyon. The plan is to hike on Pacific Crest Trail from Foboes Canyon to Hwy 74.
Looking back down Fobes Canyon and Lake Hemet a short way into the hike.
Taking a short break. Apache Peak in the background.
Near the summit of Palm View Peak.
On the summit of Palm View Peak. Not sure how this peak got it's name. The trees are so thick on top that you could only about a 100 feet.
The views on this hike were great. The snow was an added plus.
Checking the map to make sure we stay on the right trail.
We took a lunch break on Pyramid Peak at 7,035 feet.
View from Pyramid Peak.
Ice formations on the south side of Pyramid Peak.
Closer look at the rim ice.
These ice formations looked like feathers.
Sooz and Kathy coming down from Pyramid Peak heading back down to the PCT which can be seen in the background.
View to the east from the PCT.
Out of the snow, still a long way back to the vehicles.
The temp started dropping fast near sunset. stopped to put on more layers.
We finished the hike in the dark. The hike ended up being about 17 miles.
