Another view of Onion Valley.
The view to the northwest as I start down off the peak. Sardine Lake with Black Mountain, 13,289 feet on the left and Mount Mary Austin, 13,051 feet on the right.
Looking down at Lilley Pass.
Looking back up at Kearsarge Peak.
Almost back at the pass.
At the pass looking to the southwest.
Going down the loose slope is going to be a lot more fun than it was coming up.
Looking back up as I start down.
Almost back on the rocks near the bottom of the slope.
More shooting stars in the meadow.
Nice looking dead tree along the trail with Independence Peak in the background.
Getting near the end of the hike.
Back at Onion Valley. The hike was about a six mile round trip with a gain of about 3,300 feet.
Have some time before I have to head home, so going to look for The Arch in the Alabama Hills.
On the search for The Arch.
Found this little arch, but it's not the one I'm looking for.
This rock formation is call The Nipple. I know that The Arch is in this area, must be close.
Found it. Lone Pine Peak, 12,944 in background.
Mount Whitney, 14,494 feet in the arch.
Lone Pine Peak in the arch.
The Nipple in the arch.
This turned out to be another great weekend.
