After about an hour on the summit, we started the descent back to camp.
Scot and Susan checking out the view from the saddle.
Dropping down into the chute.
It felt like it was much steeper on the way down.
This is on the steepest section about half way down.
More nice looking rocks.
Scot dumping the sand and rocks out of his boots at the base of the chute.
Scot and Susan ready to hike out after hanging out at our camp for awhile. They did a great job of knocking this hike off as a day hike.
Heading down to Peanut Lake just below camp to try our luck at fishing.
The water at Peanut was clear and a beautiful blue/green color.
It didn't take long for Sooz to catch the first fish. The lake was full of brookies, we kept 4 for dinner.
I had to clean them, but Sooz handled the cooking. They made a great appetizers before dinner.
The next morning we hiked out. It would have been easy to do this hike in two days, but by doing it in three we had time to fish and just relax. Nice change.
On the Mount Whitney Road headed to Lone Pine for pizza and beer, great way to end a hike.
