He likes it. After he finished it, he ate part of the grip from one of Sooz's hiking ploes, and kept coming back trying to bite anything we had, camera, packs....
The little king on his mountain. Time for us the head down.
Starting the hike down off the peak.
Dana's northwest slope is rock covered with a lot of different use trails.
Down in the trees next to the meadow.
Almost back to the trailhead.
Another view of the same little lake.
Back at Tioga Pass.
Back at camp we played with some sparklers to celebrate the 4th of July.
The next morning we planned a hike to Mount Conness. I wasn't feeling well at the start of the hike, but decided to give it a try anyway.
Starting off from the Sawmill campground.
Stream crossing.
Approaching the Carnegie Institute Experimental Station. Looks like the place hasn't been used for awhile.
View of Mount Conness on the right.
Group of small waterfalls.
We weren't sure about the route we were taking, but it looked like it was heading in the right direction.
Just getting into the steep section of the hike. At this point I was feeling really bad and didn't want to go any further. Sooz didn't want to do the hike on her own so we turned around here.
Heading back out.
Stream with Mount Dana in the distance.
Zoomed in on Dana.
Driving back out to Hwy 120.
Since it was a short hike, we drove into Yosemite Nat'l Park to kill some time. This is a View of Tenaya Lake from Olmsted Point.
From the lookout we had a good view of Half Dome eight miles to the south.
Zoomed in on Half Dome.
Sooz with Half Dome.
Sunset at Tuolumne Meadows. We headed down to the Whoa Nellie Deli for dinner before heading back to camp.
