Heading to Rock Creek Lake where I'll meet Kathy for the hike to Mount Morgan after spending the night near the Owens River Gorge.

Trail junction to Francis Lake. Last weekend when I tried this hike I hiked a quarter mile past this before I realized I missed it.

Our first view of Mount Morgan as we near Francis Lake.

There were a lot of flowers along thr trail.

Francis Lake. We used the clear area on the slope to climb up to the ridge. Last week I followed the canyon up and ended up on a boulder field.

Francis Lake again from the inlet side. The lake is just past the half way point in distance, but at 10,900' it's only about a quarter of the way in altitude.

The boulder field down in the canyon I hiked through last weekend. I don't recommend coming up the canyon.

From here we headed to the lowest saddle on the main ridge.

On the saddle at about 12,500'. From here we'll follow Morgan's northwest ridge to the summit.

Most of the lakes in Little Lakes Valley come into view as we climb the ridge. Only a few can be seen from Morgan's summit.

We heard what sounded like 10 seconds of thunder. Turn out the be a slide (center of photo).

There were a few steep sections, but most of this hike was easier than we thought it was going to be.
