After a few of us did the hike the Alta Peak the day before, we decided to visit the Giant Forest with Ken and Bob. This is where we started our hike.

This is the Senate Group. Without people in the photo it's hard to tell how large these trees really are.

From these small pine cones the mighty giants grow.

This broken branch had a beautiful color to it.

This deer was feeding near the trail. It just looked up at us and returned to eating.

A short time later, we came across this fawn. We also saw another one with it's mother.

These trees are so BIG, it was hard to find one far enough away the fit it in a photo.

This was just a little pond, but it had a nice reflection in it.

Standing inside the Black Arch. It's burned out core went up around forty feet. Even though the cores were deeply burned in some of these trees, they still were alive and growing well.

This is the Cattle Cabin. We stopped here for a lunch break.
